TraumaPlay™
TraumaPlay™ is a specialized form of play therapy designed to help children recover from difficult or traumatic experiences. Created by therapist Paris Goodyear-Brown over the past 20 years, it brings together several trusted therapy methods into one flexible, child-centered approach.

Using games, creative activities, and storytelling, TraumaPlay™ helps children express their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and develop healthy coping skills—all in a way that feels safe and natural to them. Some activities are guided by the therapist, while others allow the child to lead.

The model is based on research about how trauma impacts the brain, and how play can support healing and emotional growth. A key part of TraumaPlay™ is involving parents, so you’ll be supported and guided as an active partner in your child’s healing journey.

It’s a warm, responsive, and effective therapy that meets children—and their families—right where they are.
